Ok folks, this is my short biography. My name is Melinda Gibbs. I am a wife, mother of two daughters, and grandmother of five wonderful grandsons. I am blessed that both of my parents, and my mother-in-law are still living. I am a retired industrial engineer and hold an M.B.A in business administration. My religious affiliation is Southern Baptist, but don't worry, the purpose of this site is not to recruit you away from your domination into mine. I believe in miracles, both great and small, because I have witnessed them throughout my life. I think some miracles should remain private, and others you should share, like the story of my father's remission from terminal cancer. I have worked as an entrepreneur on the internet since January 2000. I am a web host and I also make custom designed jewelry. In all this time, I have been very careful not to include any spiritual or political content on my websites for fear it would drive business away. But, I have decided it is time to share our family's wonderful story with others. Hopefully, others will be helped by sharing it.

I am not going to delve very deeply into my political views. I do want to mention a few things that I feel very strongly about. I want to touch briefly on how we protect our environment, the current run away prices of petroleum, and our dependence on foreign oil.

It is my belief that we need to consider alternatives to gas guzzling automobiles, such as the electric car, which many believe was systematically killed by the automobile manufactures, politicians, and special interests despite protests from those leasing the cars. I do believe the record costs of crude oil and gasoline is partially due to increased demand from China and other recently developed nations. I also believe that "opportunists" are using this crisis to "jack up" prices even more because they wish to drill in the arctic and other places that are currently protected. The representative from the 10th District in Georgia, my home state, recently used the words "wacko environmentalists" when addressing the House of Representatives concerning restrictions on drilling and other issues. Folks, I was very disturbed by those words. I believe with all my heart that God gave us a scared trust when man was made caretaker of the earth. I am going to quote a few verses from the Bible, and you decide for yourself what our responsibilities to the earth and ALL its inhabitants, both human and animal are. Regardless of your pesonal viewpoint, I hope this is a topic everyone will add to their prayer list.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

And God blessed them, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it; and have dominion over the fish of sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

And to every beast of the earth, and to very fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.

And God saw every thing that he had made, and behold, it was very good....Genesis 1:27-31
